My Story
Hi, I’m Courtney, the heart and creative soul behind Wildflower Events.
My journey into this work started with something simple: a deep love for meaningful moments and the stories they hold.
Becoming a mom and planning my own wedding completely shifted how I see celebrations. I realized that the magic of these days isn’t just in the big moments everyone expects, it’s in the tiny, in-between ones. The quiet glances, the laughter shared between friends, the thoughtful details someone spent hours dreaming up, the emotions that catch you by surprise.
Those are the moments we remember years later.
That realization is what led me into the wedding and events world. I wanted to help preserve those memories for other people, the real, genuine moments that often pass by too quickly in the excitement of the day.
I dove into the industry by earning my WPIC certification and my IAP event planning certificate, while also gaining experience working alongside photographers and wedding professionals. Over time, I realized that what I loved most wasn’t just planning or coordinating — it was capturing the story unfolding around me.
The moments people don’t even realize are happening.
The laughter while getting ready.
The proud smiles from parents.
The quiet breath a bride takes before walking down the aisle.
The feeling in a room when everyone you love is gathered together.
That’s what I want to preserve.
Weddings will always hold a special place in my heart and my business. Being invited into one of the most meaningful days of someone’s life and helping capture those memories is something I never take for granted.
But over time, my passion has grown beyond weddings as well.
What truly lights me up is documenting people stepping into meaningful moments in their lives, whether that’s a couple celebrating their love story or a woman launching a business she has poured her heart into.
I care deeply about supporting women, celebrating creativity, and helping bring visions to life. There’s something incredibly powerful about women coming together, encouraging one another, and creating spaces where we can all grow and shine.
That’s the kind of energy I love being part of.
Whether I’m capturing a wedding day, a women’s event, or brand content for an entrepreneur building her dream, my goal is always the same:
To preserve the feeling of the moment.
To celebrate connection.
And to tell the story in a way that feels authentic, joyful, and timeless.
Because for me, it’s never just about content.
It’s about the memories, the people, the energy in the room, and the moments that make life so beautiful.
30 FACTS ABOUT ME
I wanted to share a few little things about me, because if we’re going to spend your wedding day together, or you’re trusting me with your event or business, I think it’s important you know the real me.
I’m a mom to the funniest, sweetest, most kind-hearted little boy. One of our favourite things to do together is print and cut out paper hockey players, football players, and movie characters so he can play with them on the coffee table.
I’m 100% the hype friend. Tell me your good news and I’ll celebrate it like it’s my own.
I believe deeply in women supporting women and creating spaces where we can all shine.
I notice the tiniest details in everything, which is probably why I love capturing them so much.
I may come across as an extrovert, but after multiple quizzes, I come out as an introvert every time.
I’m super empathetic and feel all the feels, so don’t be surprised if I’m quietly crying in the background during your ceremony.
I’m very much a mix of type A and type B. I love a good plan and organization, but you’ll also hear me saying time isn’t real and I can never seem to find my AirPods.
I’m an ADHD girlie who has learned to use my tools daily to stay as grounded, focused, and creative as possible.
I’m a Libra ♎️ which honestly explains a lot. I love beauty, balance, connection, and making things feel just right. (feel free to ask me my moon and rising if you need to know)
I’m proudly ¾ Ukrainian.
I’ve loved fashion and dressing up since I was a little girl, but lately I’ve been obsessed with my capsule wardrobe and fully in my “if I could live in sweats every day, I would” era.
I’m happiest in the sunshine, give me +30 summer days over −20 winter any day.
I feel really connected to nature and love being outside.
I love travelling and have a very long bucket list of places I want to see (if you're getting married outside of Canada, message me where and we’ll chat about putting me in your suitcase).
I’m very spiritual and love learning about alignment, intuition, and personal growth.
I’m a whole-foods girlie, no gluten or dairy for this chick, and I can never get enough fruits and veggies.
I used to live on Monsters, Diet Pepsi, and coffee… but these days it’s mostly lemon water, dandelion tea, and Bubbly’s (although you may still catch me with a coffee in hand on wedding days).
I say “stunning,” “gorgeous,” “so cute” and “100%” way too often, so I apologize in advance.
I’m a bit… okay a lot of a yapper. I’ll chit chat with you about anything really but gossip isn’t my thing and heart-to-hearts are my favourite kind of conversation. <3
I love going for runs, especially in the summer when it’s hot and sunny.
One of my favourite little pockets of alone time is grocery shopping (which might be the most mom thing ever).
I love crafting, creating, and doing DIY projects. #cricutclub
Being in my feminine, creative energy is where I feel the most like myself.
I work for a social media marketing team (Edmonton Social Media Marketing) full of incredible women I love dearly so throughout the week you’ll find me at content days, or at home making content plans or editing.
I grew up around entrepreneurship; my grandpa started our family shoe store,Paush Shoesin Bonnie Doon Mall, 59 years ago and my parents run it today, so some would say it’s in my blood.
I spent many of my childhood summer days out at my baba and gidos farm in Smoky Lake on quads, playing sports in the yard with my cousins or searching for the cats in the barn.
I’m way more of a podcast girlie than a book girlie. Most of the podcasts I listen to are about health, wellness, spirituality, personal growth, marketing, and occasionally pop culture.
My guilty pleasure is reality TV.
I’m extremely clumsy… which is funny considering I was a competitive figure skater for over 10 years.
If there’s a dance floor, I’m on it.
Catch me singing at all hours of the day (whether anyone asked for it or not).
I love almost every kind of music, but country music definitely has a very special place in my heart.
Either a hot bath or sauna session is my favourite way to unwind.
